If a save doesn't go through

Saving can fail for reasons that have nothing to do with you: the connection drops, Vink has a short outage, or you were signed out in another tab. Vink keeps what you typed on this device until the save is confirmed, so you can send it again.

A trade that didn't save

If your connection drops or Vink can't answer, the form stays filled and the save bar says your trade didn't reach Vink. Nothing you typed is lost.

Check your connection and press Save trade again. It's safe to press it more than once: Vink gives every trade its own id when you start it, so if the first save did reach Vink and only the answer got lost, the second press finishes that same trade instead of adding a second one.

If you closed the tab or the page went away before the answer came, your dashboard says "A trade you saved didn't reach Vink." Click Open it and save again: the form opens filled in, with a note that the trade didn't finish saving. In the Simple world the same line is on the Simple home screen.

Signed out while saving

If your session ended (a password change, or you signed out somewhere else), Vink doesn't save the trade and tells you so. The trade stays on this device. Sign in again and the dashboard links back to it.

If someone else signed in on this browser in the meantime, Vink doesn't save the trade into their journal. It stays on this device until you sign in again.

A trade you started and didn't save

A new trade you started but never saved is kept on this device for a day. The next time you open the form, Vink puts it back and says so. Click Start fresh if you don't want it.

Your mental journal and trading plan

• Notes in the mental journal are kept while you write. After a reload the day says "Restored what you were writing. It isn't saved yet." Click Save day to save it. If the note was saved somewhere else in the meantime, on your phone or in another tab, Vink shows the saved one and drops the older copy.
• The trading plan questions keep your answers and the question you were on. Vink says "Restored the answers you had given," and nothing is saved until the last step. Start fresh clears them.
• Support messages and survey answers are kept until they're sent.

When a page shows "This page didn't finish"

The page shows a reference. Click Support: the message form opens with the reference already in the subject, so Vink can find exactly what went wrong.

On a shared computer

What's kept stays in this browser only. Signing out clears it, and another person who signs in on the same browser never sees your unsaved work.
