Times are off by hours

How Vink keeps a trade's time

Vink stores a trade's time exactly as it was entered and shows it the same way to everyone, without converting it to another time zone. Which times it starts with depends on how the trade got in:

• A new trade starts with your device's clock: Entry time is now, and the exit is five minutes later. Vink doesn't read times from a chart screenshot, so change them if you log the trade later.
• A MetaTrader 5 import converts the report's times from your broker's clock, which you pick on the import page. With As printed (no change), the trades keep your broker's server time, which can be hours away from yours.

Fix a trade's time

1. Open the trade and click Edit.
2. Change Entry time and Exit time.
3. Click Save changes.

Fix the times of imported trades

Import the same MetaTrader report again and pick your broker's clock under Times in this report are. Vink corrects the times of every trade it imported from that report. Import your trades from MetaTrader 5 explains the clocks.

Where the hours show up

• News near a trade. Vink places the news in your own time zone and compares it with the times on the trade. If the trade is in your broker's time, the news looks early or late by the difference.
• Days. Vink puts a trade on the day of its time, for the calendar, your daily loss limit and the period filters. A trade near midnight in your broker's time can land on the day before or after.

Your time zone

Vink takes your time zone from your browser. There's no setting for it in Vink. If news times or your emails are off by hours, check the time zone of your computer or phone.

The News calendar names the time zone it uses at the top. Review reminders and other morning emails arrive at their hour in that time zone.
