Change your email address
Short answer
Go to Settings and click Change next to your address. Type the new address and your password. Vink emails a link to the new address, and your account moves when you open it.
Change it
- Go to Settings. Under Profile, click Change next to your address.
- Type your New email address and Your password.
- Click Send the link.
- Open the email Vink sends to the new address and click Confirm new email.
- Click Confirm new email again on the page that opens.
The link works once and for 24 hours. Until you open it, your account keeps its old address. If you ask again, only the newest link works. To stop a change you asked for, click Cancel the change on the same Settings page.
You stay signed in on every device. From then on you sign in with the new address, and every account email goes there.
Your old address gets a notice
When the address changes, Vink emails the old address to say so. If you made the change, there is nothing to do.
A change you didn't make
If that notice reaches you and you didn't change anything, click This wasn't me in it, then Put my old address back. Vink then:
- puts your old address back on the account;
- signs out every device;
- emails your old address a link to choose a new password;
- removes any Google or Apple sign-in added since the change, and turns two-step login off. Turn it on again once you have a new password.
The button works for 7 days. After that, write to Vink through the contact form.
You sign in with Google or Apple
Set a password first. Under Password in Settings, click Email me a link, then change your address.
"That is already your email address."
Vink treats spellings of one mailbox as the same address, such as a Gmail address with or without dots. Type an address that reaches a different mailbox.
