Short answer

Each term below has one plain definition and the exact formula Vink uses. Missed trades never count toward your results, and a trade without a stop-loss has no R.

Which trades count

Results count the trades that ended: wins, losses and breakevens. Open trades are still running, so they wait. Two kinds of trade never count:

  • Front-run: an order the market never filled. Vink shows its planned R:R with a ≈ sign and keeps it out of your results.
  • Pending: an order that hasn't filled yet.

A missed trade is one you saw and didn't take. It never counts toward your results either. Stats can show missed trades on their own, so you see what passing on them did.

R and the trade

R (R-multiple)

How much a trade made, measured in the risk you took. The risk is the distance from entry to stop-loss; the move is the distance from entry to exit. R is the move divided by the risk, rounded to two decimals. An exit at the stop-loss is −1R. A trade without a stop-loss has no R. With partial exits, Vink uses the average exit price, weighted by size. Fees play no part: R comes from prices only.

R:R (planned)

The reward you planned against the risk: the distance from entry to take profit, divided by the distance from entry to stop-loss. With several take profits, Vink weights them by size.

Total R

The sum of R across your trades that ended and have an R.

Expectancy

Your average R per trade: total R divided by the number of trades it adds up.

Breakeven

A trade that ended at exactly zero. Vink decides a trade's outcome from its P&L when you entered one, otherwise from the exit against the entry, otherwise from its R. You can also set the outcome yourself.

Pips

The move divided by the pip size, to one decimal. Vink guesses the pip size from the symbol: 0.01 for JPY pairs, 0.0001 for other forex pairs, 0.1 for gold, and 1 for indices and crypto. You can change the value on the trade.

Results

Win rate

Wins divided by all trades that ended, as a percentage. Breakevens count in the total, so they lower your win rate.

Net P&L

The sum of profit and loss across the trades shown. Vink uses the P&L you entered. Vink has no field for fees, commission or swap, so enter the P&L after costs if you want them included. A trade with no P&L but with an R is estimated as R times your risk per trade, and totals that include such estimates say so.

Profit factor

All profit divided by all loss, in money. It has no value until you have a losing trade.

Return

Net P&L divided by the account's starting capital, as a percentage.

Max drawdown

The largest fall from a high point of your running P&L to a low after it, in time order. Stats shows it in money and in R. It is not the figure a prop firm's drawdown rule uses: that one is measured per account against the firm's rule.

Recovery factor

Net P&L divided by max drawdown: how much you earned for each unit of drawdown.

How a trade ran

MAE and MFE

Maximum adverse excursion is how far a trade went against you before you closed it. Maximum favorable excursion is how far it went your way. Both are in R, measured from the entry, and both need a stop-loss. You enter the worst and best price on the trade if you want them.

Capture efficiency

How much of the available move you kept: the R you made divided by the MFE. A loss counts as zero. A low capture means you exit winners early.

Prop-firm rules

Daily loss limit

How much you may lose in one day. Vink adds up the closed P&L of the day's trades and compares it with the limit. It warns you at 80% of the limit.

Max drawdown limit

How far a prop account may fall. Vink measures it on closed trades in one of three ways, set on the account: from the starting balance, from the highest balance raised at each day's close, or from the highest balance raised after every trade. Set up your accounts explains each.

Phase

One stage of a prop-firm program, such as a challenge, a verification or a funded account. Reaching the profit target passes a phase. Breaking the drawdown or the daily loss limit loses it.

Rotation

A set of two or more accounts you trade in turn. Logging a trade on the account that's up next moves the turn to the following account. Rotations are on Pro.

Stats

Certainty chips

Each answer in Stats carries a chip. Too early means fewer than 10 trades. Clear means the result holds up in a standard statistical test at 95%. Not proven means the result could still be chance.

Findings

Patterns Vink finds in your own trades, such as a time of day or a setup that differs from the rest. A finding needs at least 4 trades behind it. Its headline is a fact; any explanation is marked as a guess.

Chart readings

Each time Vink reads a screenshot into a trade. See how chart readings count.
