Read your Vink score
Short answer
The Vink score shows how well you keep your own process, from 0 to 100. It has five parts: your rules, your limits, your routine, your journal and the result. Open it from the ring above Net P&L on your dashboard.
The Vink score shows how well you keep your own process, from 0 to 100. Vink works it out from what you already log: your trades, your trading plan, your mental journal and your reviews. You don't fill in anything extra.
Where to find it
The ring sits above Net P&L on your dashboard, with the number beside it. Click it to open the Vink score page.
Each time the ring opens, the parts come out of the V and settle at their scores. A part at 90 or more glows as it settles, and at 100 a thin ring also spreads out from it.
The score always covers all your active accounts. The dashboard's period and account choice don't change it.
The five parts
Each part answers one question, and each has its own color in the ring.
- Your rules (25%): did you trade the way your plan says? Vink looks at your last 20 trades. It counts the rules in your trading plan that it checks itself, the rules you tick on a trade, and your focus. A rule you tick counts half, because you tick it after you know the result. A trade with none of these counts by your answer to Followed plan?, and a trade with no answer counts as off plan.
- Your limits (20%): did you stay inside your day limits? Vink looks at your last 10 trading days and every day limit in your trading plan. Each limit counts from the day you set it or last changed it, so a new limit never judges the days before it. Stopping at a limit counts as kept. A trade you enter once the day has reached a limit breaks it. With no day limit set, this part is left out.
- Your routine (15%): do you do the work around your trading? Vink looks at your last 10 trading days: the morning plan written that day, the debrief, and the focus question when you have a focus. It also counts your reviews over the last 4 weeks you traded.
- Your journal (15%): are your trades fully logged? For each of your last 20 trades, Vink checks for a screenshot, a note of at least 15 characters, a feeling or an emotion, and an answer about your plan.
- Result (25%): does your trading make money? Vink takes the average R of your last 40 trades that have an R, after costs. 0R is 50. A short run counts for less, so a few lucky trades can't carry it. This part counts from 20 trades with an R.
A trade without an R still counts in the first four parts. Only Result needs one.
The total weighs the parts as shown. A low part pulls the total down more than an average of the parts would, so the weakest part is the one worth working on.
Days you don't trade don't count against you. Every part counts trades or trading days, never calendar days.
A part only reaches 100 when you kept everything over its full window, for example every one of your last 10 trading days inside your limits. While a window is still filling, a short run counts for less, so a good first week can't read as perfect.
Too early
The score needs 5 trades on 3 trading days. Before that, the ring is empty and says how far you are, for example Too early · 2 of 5 trades. The page already shows each part.
The score page
Under the number you see Process (the first four parts) and Result. Once Result counts, one sentence says how your plan and your results relate.
The parts are listed in the ring's order, and the lowest is open. Each one shows its question, the facts behind it and one thing to do. Click a part, in the list or on the ring, to open it.
Over time shows your score at the end of each week you traded. Vink works it out again from your journal as it is now, so editing an old trade can change the line.
