Log your first trade

Short answer

Drop a screenshot of your chart on the dashboard, or paste it. Vink fills in the trade. Check the fields, add a tag if you like, and click Save trade.

Drop your first chart

Before your first trade, the dashboard says Drop your first chart. Take a screenshot of your trade in TradingView, then:

  • drop the file on the dashboard,
  • paste it with ⌘V on a Mac or Ctrl+V on Windows, anywhere on the page,
  • or click to choose a file.

No chart to hand? Click Try it on ours to see a reading on a sample chart. The sample isn't saved.

Check and save

Vink opens the trade form with the fields it read tagged read. Check them against your chart and fix anything that's wrong. Get a good chart reading, and fix a wrong one shows how.

Only Symbol and Entry are required. Add a stop-loss too: without one, Vink can't work out the trade's R. Pick the account if you have more than one, add tags if you like, and click Save trade.

After the first trade

Vink asks whether you're trading a prop-firm challenge. Yes, set up my rules sets the account's target and limits in a few fields. No, my own account skips it. You can also go straight to Write my trading plan.

From then on, click New trade for every trade.

Simple or Detailed

Vink has two ways to log. Detailed is the full trade form and every analysis screen. Simple is two screens with no menu: Log a trade, see your record, and wrap up the day. Both share the same trades and accounts.

Switch with Detailed | Simple whenever you like. Use the Simple world explains when each one fits.

A trade you didn't take

On the trade form, switch Took it to Missed it and say why you didn't take it. Missed trades are kept apart from your results, so Stats can show what passing on them did.
